Shane Madolora- Senior Instructor

Shane is currently the head coach of the NCDC JR Monarch team as well as the Director of Player Development for the Monarchs.  Prior to that, Shane had been coaching full time for the RIT women's hockey team. As an assistant coach at RIT, Shane had many responsibilities such as being in charge of running the defense and the goaltenders, recruiting, scouting, game day preparations, and more. Along with his coaching experience at RIT, between his times playing professionally he has coached camps, clinics, and private lessons.

Before coaching, Shane was a remarkable goaltender for the RIT Tigers from 2009-12. Originally from Salinas, California, Madolora came to RIT and recorded many individual awards! Madolora is a 9-time Atlantic Hockey Association Goaltender of the week, back-to-back All-AHA first team selection, All-American, and much more. Throughout his career at RIT became a RIT record holder in multiple categories, was a member of the team when the Tigers reached the Frozen Four, and voted the RIT senior male athlete of the year in 2012. After receiving his bachelors's degree in Business Management from RIT, Shane played professional hockey for 4 years in the States. From there he went to Europe and played in England, France, and Italy.

Madolora had a very impressive playing career winning multiple championships! To name a few, in his junior career he won the Robertson Cup in the NAHL and in the USHL he won both the Anderson and Clark Cup. While in Europe his teams in Italy and UK won their championships, walking away with the Coppa Italia and Challenge Cup.


Brad Wheeler - Senior Instructor

Brad Wheeler is a Rochester native, who grew up playing youth and high school hockey in the area. He moved on to play Collegiate hockey at SUNY Canton and Fredonia. Once completed college, Brad played professionally in the UHL (United Hockey League).

After his playing career, Brad moved back to the Rochester area to pursue coaching youth and high school hockey. Over the years, Wheeler's coaching career has taken him all over the country with his involvement in many youth, junior organizations, and the USA Hockey Development Program. In addition to Wheeler's coaching experience, he has a Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Brockport in Physical Education and has many different connections throughout the hockey world. Coach Wheeler will be entering his second season with the Rochester Jr. Monarchs Premier team.


Brian Bailey - Senior Instructor

Brian Bailey started his coaching career in 2012 assisting with the Fairport High School JV team, developing players to move on to play at the Varsity level. After two seasons, Brian worked his way into a co-head coaching roll with the JV team and helped take that team onto win a league chamionship in the 2014-15 season.

Coach Bailey moved up to assist the Varsity program at Fairport High School. In his first year as an assistant, he helped lead the team to the Sectional Final. 
The Rochester Jr. Monarchs brought Brian on board in their inaugural season in 2016 as an assistant coach. He helped the Jr. Monarchs make the playoffs their first sesaon in the USPHL, while still helping lead the Fairport H.S. Varsity team to back to back Sectional Finals. Coach Bailey got promoted from the Elite team to be the Assistant coach at the Premier level. Brian assisted in coaching an inexperienced Premier team that came out with a winning season and playoff birth.
In 2018, Brian took the opportunity to be the Assistant Coach with both the NCDC and Premier teams in our organization. Coach Bailey's role on both teams is to recruit Premier and NCDC players, almong with being the team's skills coordinator. Brian will be entering his fourth season with the Rochester Jr. Monarchs organization.
